We are registering an interest in two buildings and one site in Lauder under the Community Right to Buy legislation. This gives us a chance to buy them should they come up for sale. We have six months to raise the sale price before they can be offered on the open market. Under this legislation the price is set by the district valuer, so we would be asked a fair price, but not an inflated one.

The two buildings are

1. The current Lauder Primary School.

2. The current GP surgery in Factors Park.

The site is

Wyndhead (the original site proposed for the new Lauder Primary School).

If you are asked to sign a sheet to say you support the registration please do so if you live in Lauderdale and are eligible to vote. We need 10% support of people in this category in order to apply for registration. Later on, if we get a chance to buy, we come to the community with our plans and ask for support once more.

If we do not invoke the Community Right to Buy we lose the opportunity to have the buildings and services the community needs.
